Vacation for your brain

You may have read this blog before…this is a reminder

Try Adult Coloring Pages or bake cookies or soup

Sometimes I have a really hard time writing these posts. I still have Chronic Depression and just don’t really feel like writing. My Queen of Procrastination chimes and tells me to just forget it this week.

Then the Empath in me tells me that some people are relying on reading this every week. So the Empath wins and I write.

I am trying to research PTSD for a post, but Oh Man, there is a lot involved in that one. What part of it boils down to is that your trauma has made a loop of memory. So, you think it over and over and over. Somehow you need to break that loop. You may need the help of a therapist to do it. If you are very strong willed you may be able to train your Brain to think other thoughts when that loop starts.

Distract yourself, have a montra, ie: This is in the past and over. I don’t need to live it again. Or, I make it a habit to be happy. Meditate if you can. Just break that loop.

Adult Coloring Pages are all over the internet. A whole lot of them are free. Get some colored pencils and start coloring. You will be surprised at how distracting it is. Soon you are thinking of what color goes where. That is all you need to think about.

Try playing with your cat or walk your dog. How about making some cookies.
