Do Not Compare

You are the only person like you on the planet.

Do not ever compare your life to someone else. You are the only you and no one will be or think like you. Even if you have a twin.

You are special. You have a problem with depression and a lot of people have that. But, they do not think like you or view things the way you do.

Suffering from depression is not the end of the world, but it can feel like it is. It is NOT.

I have depression, SAD, heart disease, and asthma. Life goes on. All of these things are NORMAL to me. They are a part of my life story.

Do I like any of it? No. But it is who I am. And I have had a wonderful life, so far.

Do I ever feel lonely? Yes, of course. Do I feel like crying? Yes, even now as I write this. I know that it is nothing I did that makes me sad. It is a faulty brain signal. Not my fault. Not your’s either.

Every single living thing on this earth has problems. My sister, as you know, has Parkinson’s Disease. I will stick with what I have, thank you very much.

The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. It just looks prettier. Grass has many enemies from weather to millions of bugs or being trampled to death.

Look at your depression for the disease that it is and not what you have done! It gets easier to deal with then.

Read another blog post or see the menu for shopping ideas. Let your depression rest for a while.
