Learn to ice bath slow and easy.

An ice bath can help relieve Depression.

Ice baths are very popular these days. And very beneficial to the mind.

Among many other things they can prevent and improve mental health conditions such as depression.

Cold showers have an effect like an antidepressant, without the side effects, and helps OCD. They stimulate your happy hormones.

Cold baths improve your flight or fight response so they are calming. I could go on with reasons to try cold water because there are many.

How to start

You are only in a cold bath for seconds then build up time.

Take a nice hot shower and when you are ready to get out lower the hot water and have 10-30 seconds of cold water. Keep building up the cold seconds.

Then get your breathing going.

  1. get in a comfy meditation like position.

2. deep breath rapidly 30-40 times to get your lungs ready.

Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Being sure each breath expands your belly and chest.

OK so far: not too hard.

Now do some rapid breathing again then exhale without breathing in. (Don’t inflate your lungs.) Then take a final deep breath and hold it for about 15 seconds.

Slow and easy will get you into ice bathing and helping your mental additude.

Google a man named Wim Hof and you can read about what he does and the other benefits of ice therapy. He started this way, too.
