Let’s Talk Serotonin…What?

Eat well for your mental health.

Let’s talk Serotonin Levels. Serotonin is one of those brain chemicals that your body needs to function well. Sort of like your thyroid only it works in your brain and gut.

If Serotonin drops too low it can do things that can feel like depression and even give you restless leg syndrome.

Serotonin helps your mood and memory, also, it helps your sleep problems. It also helps with giving you a healthy gut. In fact, most Serotonin is used in your gut.

Serotonin is called a “feel good” hormone and is needed to help your overall mood and well being.

The function of your brain is to use it well. Sometimes our receptors in the brain don’t work well and Serotonin doesn’t get where it is needed.

Antidepressants often work by helping your brain use Serotonin Levels correctly.

Some foods can help.

Some foods can help it also. Like: beans, eggs, tuna or salmon and Mackerel. Eat your greens your Mother told you. Spinach and kale are great. Dark leafy greens. Bananas, nuts like walnuts and some seeds. Yogurt, drinking Kefir or tofu helps. Turkey helps, too. It’s not just for Thanksgiving anymore.

Fruits and vegetables help by keeping your gut healthy.

Exercise is great. Hard to do if your depressed, but important if you want to feel better.

The things I have talked about in this blog is all to help you to feel better. Even getting a hobby that you like.

Sitting in the sun helps get your Vitamin D3 up, which is another good thing.

Now they say that getting or even giving a massage helps your brain chemicals.

The best things you can do for yourself is eat well. Bananas and nuts aren’t hard to cook!

Get out in the sun for 10 to 15 minutes a day.

Exercise.

Talk to your Doctor and see what he/she has to say. More and more people are doing that.

Take back control of your thinking to work around depression.

You may not feel like you are adequate for human life, but you are! What if you are the one that makes a great discovery? Many or most geniuses have depression and/or alcoholism.

Live this life you were given and see what might happen!

Everyone on earth has problems. Ours just happen to keep our happiness levels low. We can deal with it!!

Talk to your Doctor or even go online to a therapist. Depression is not an embarrassment any more.

You are worth the work!!!
