Write it down and you can say to yourself, I Wrote it and it’s the best I could do at the time. Don’t worry too much about what it says. The idea is to get it on paper and say I Wrote it. Maybe it is helping you to see.
When you can write it all down you can see the possibilities. A journal could become important to you as a means of escaping from depression or just trying to figure out a problem going through your head. The good the bad and the ugly.
I have said before that journaling was not for me, but, the more I think about it maybe I just didn’t stick with it long enough.
When I first try to journal I usually get mad or frustrated because, everything seems ugly or annoying. The world was an ugly place that I didn’t want to be in. Now I can see that if I had kept at it I may have gotten to a place where I could write my emotions or what I liked or didn’t like about something.
Start writing on any piece of paper that you have and give it your best shot. If you can only write the date, yay for you!!! Write the date again tomorrow, and then the next day. Look out your window and write down what you see. Even cities can be beautiful if you look around. It might take you a while to see it, but, it’s there. Like how did the buildings get so high. Look up and see the sun shining on the glass on a building or a plane going high above. If you are really lucky you might see a Peregrine Falcon high above on a window ledge. That would be what I would want to see! Even the pigeons can be wonderful especially in flight. My nephew sees a pigeon and always says “Oww Squab!” Pretty fancy food, if you ask me.

Don’t be afraid to write your emotions or things you remember, but don’t really want to. It will get better with time and no one is going to see it but you. If you are an artist type, draw pictures in there, also.
Journals are to relieve your mind of all the things hanging out in there. Some are ugly and you can write it and leave it on the page eventually. Read What I want you to know on this blog to help with tips on working on training your mind.
Writing down your thoughts or what you see, even if it’s all black, can help you to see the reality and not just the mind speak. Reality is usually not quite as bad as we seem to think it is. Mind speak is adding the ugly and black color to it.
I would love for you to give it a try and hang with it for a while. Don’t give up as fast as I did, even if you scribble and scream. That helps get those emotions out too. Eventually I think you will be getting to real words and drawings and everything in a place to keep it, like a journal. If you think of a place you would like to see at some point, write that down too. Like Paris! Or the Grand Canyon. Even a park right down the street.
