The world is a huge place.
When you are depressed your whole world goes from huge and full of potential to a pinpoint with just you in it.
You are alone there and your thoughts are ugly and stale.

Your job at this point is to open and push that pinpoint until you can see more and more.
Think about a blind person. They can not see anything at all, but they know that the bright and colorful world is out there.
They still have to function in the colorful world and don’t let the darkness stop them. I admire and am amazed by them.

Their world is physical.
Depression is mental. Both are very hard.
The hard part of depression is getting off the couch and making your body move.
The hard part for a blind person is to open the door and walk outside when you can’t even see the door.
We all have hardships to overcome. Every single one of us. It can be sickness or drugs, being full of hate or losing a limb. Millions of hardships that we are here to learn to handle.
Your job in this life is to learn to handle your hardship and deal with it.

Years ago I started with a motto. Mine was “I make it a habit to be happy.”
My happy and your happy are not the same. Find a motto or a song or picture in your imagination. Hold it there every day and hang on tight. Things will happen.
