Holidays can be hard for everyone…
Why are people so angry now?
They fight people in the middle of traffic.
They shoot people for no apparent reason.
They steal and run.
They seem to have no moral compass at all.
Are they depressed people that think violence is the way to go? Are they mentally Imbalanced and they can only show anger? There could be many reasons and we may never know the answers.
We hear and see it all these days, from all over the whole world. What we need to remember is that there is nothing new under the sun. Nothing.
We people carry cameras with us all the time. We see things in real time these days. Plus there are a lot more humans on this planet. A lot more.
There is nothing new under the sun. Don’t believe the hype of the holidays.
Holidays are hard
The holidays can be a very tough time for everyone. We have that movie expectation going on. We think everything should be happy and light. That is what happens in every movie that we see constantly. But, in real life a lot of personalities often clash. Words are said and memories are brought up that are better left in the past.
As depressives we need to remember that this is not a movie. We can’t let all the emotions flying around land on us.
There is nothing new under the sun.
Drama is unfortunately a part of life.
It is probably not about us to begin with. It is not about us! But, we feel those emotions and pull them in as our own. If you feel that happening take a time out. Go to the bathroom for a few minutes or to your room. Go for a short walk outside. Remember, it is not about you!
If they do start yammering about you, like when are you going to snap out of it, just say I’m working on it and walk away. Don’t let their drama get to you.
A really good escape is if there is a fire pit. Light that baby up and sit by it. The more quiet people will gravitate to you. When they come out you will probably hear them sigh. They are glad to be out, too. You just might start a whole new tradition.
Another good thing to do is talk to the kids. Just saying how’s it going or what’s new and the kids will take over and tell you amazing things.
Do not sit in your room and brood. Observe the people in your life. Watch out for your own emotions first. Remember: it is not about you! And there is nothing new under the sun. You can do this. Have good holidays!!!
