If you have depression you can also have anxiety, SAD all at once, or not. Confusing? Let me see if I can explain.
Depression is mostly in the brain. Sadness, hopelessness, and reduced energy.
Anxiety seems more physical. Nervousness, worry and dread.
Add some agitation and restlessness with that and you could have both at once. If you get treatment for one you are also treating all of them.

I have had depression my whole life. Over the years I have been on a lot of depression medicines. Sometimes you have to find the one that helps you the most. In my case I get on one and after a long time it does not help as much and it’s time to change to another one.
I would say that I have depression the most. Anxiety can come and go and in the fall and winter I have SAD. Seasonal Affective Disorder. Winters are long and dark with this one. This is how treatment can get so hard and it takes some time for the medications to start helping.
It is hard and takes time. Don’t get discouraged. Other help is out there or on the internet, too. Talking can sometimes be all you need. I seem to need medication the most.
If you, all the sudden need someone fast or need to talk, CALL 988.
You can also learn more about this disorder and find treatments, look into the ADAA. The Anxiety and Depression Association of America. It is a good place to start helping yourself.
Millions of adults and children have this problem. Don’t be ashamed of yourself or feel weak. Sometimes talking about it to other people can help them to get help, also.
