Energy…What is that?

Busy as a bee...

One of the hardest things about depression is the lack of energy. I have to really work hard to get myself moving.

It can take me days or weeks or more to get to the start of something I want to get done.

I, believe it or not, am a crafter. I love to make or do things that look fun. Like cross stitching, making quilts, or just about anything, even reading. About the time I get all my supplies together I’m out of the mood to do it. It takes too much energy.

Then when I do get started on something I have trouble getting the last little bit done, so I have a whole lot of unfinished projects.

I have had some really interesting jobs. I worked hard at them and did well. I worked my whole life. Yes, it was hard to do, but I got it done. I liked when I lived alone, because, I could rest after work and then get things done at home, like dinner!

Energy levels can come and go, but they are usually there when you really don’t want them. I used to love to bake and I did it a lot. I can’t tell you now when the last time I baked was. I would love to get back to it.

Start getting energy by thinking of an idea you would like to do if you could. Keep adding to it by deciding what you want to do, maybe who you want to give it to, and what it will look like when it’s done.

Start getting the supplies you will need. Do it a little at a time or if you are really into it, get them all at once.

Now, start getting it done. You can do it if you really try hard.

If you only get most of it done that is a win!! You did the hard part. Maybe one day you will want to finish it.

You might be surprised that you already have another idea in mind!

Read another post on the menu or look into the Market Pages and have fun.
